ADVANCED FOOT CARE NURSE PROGRAM
This Advanced Foot Care training program is designed for Nurses (RN, LPN/RPN, NP) who have successfully completed the online Foot Care Nurse Theory course. The course uses the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nursesβ National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada (2017) as Clinical Performance Standards and teaches a comprehensive, advanced and diabetic nursing foot care curriculum, which follows current best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice.
This course provides hands-on skill training, development, and mentorship. Combined, the Theory and Clinical course certificates are designed to prepare participants to function and work as a Foot Care Nurse.

NOTE ON FOOT CARE CERTIFICATION IN CANADA
April 2025: At this time, there is no formal certification process that is recognized by our Provincial/Territorial Nursing Regulatory body, for Foot Care Nursing. Using the term “Certified Foot Care Nurse is not currently approved, and can unintentionslly mislead the public, misrepresent qualifications, or violate regulatory guidelines. Our Nursing Regulatory bodys require that we use only titles and designations that are officially recognized.
While we hope to hear some positive developments regarding certification and regulation of nursing foot care in the coming months, it is not yet available.
