Kirsten’s Foot Care provides foot care in most of Dartmouth, Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage and Cow Bay. Foot care appointments involve a full assessment of the lower leg and foot, as well as any treatment and preventative care required.
All instruments are sterile until point of use (autoclaved) or disposable.
Nursing Foot Care
Kirsten’s Foot Care provides nursing foot care in the comfort of your own home, retirement residence, long term care facility, or clinic. As Foot Care Nurse, Kirsten not only provides nail care and treats common foot problems, but also provides health teaching promotion. Nurses are educated to assess, treat, and prevent, all to improve overall quality of life for their patients.
Foot care is provided with use of a podiatry rotary device with vacuum integration to reduce dust. All tools are sterile until point of use. Tools are soaked, scrubbed, cleaned, individually packaged and steam sterilized with use of an autoclave.

Full lower leg and foot asssessment, including monofilament testing, 8mHz doppler, and shoe/gait analysis.
Education & Referrals
While a lot of what we do is assessments and practical care, education of patients, family and caregivers is key to maintaining optimal foot health.

- Assessment of the lower limb and foot
- Monofilament testing (sensation)
- Assessment with 8mHz Doppler
- Diabetic foot risk assessments
- Wounds Canada – Inlow’s 60-second Diabetic Foot Screen
- Nail Trimming and filing
- Care, debridement of thick, damaged, dystrophic, or ram’s horn nails
- Care, debridement, treatment of onychomycosis (fungal nails)
- Care and removal of calluses, corns (hard, soft, seed)
- Care of dry, cracked skin
- Ingrown and involuted nail care
- Shoe and gait Analysis
- Padding, strapping, offloading and custom silicone devices
- Recommendations and education for common concerns such as athletes foot, bone deformities, and more.
- Plantars Wart removal (silver nitrate), if previously diagnosed by MD/NP.
